The exterior design of a stable can differ based on climate, building materials, and culture. Materials used for construction can range from masonry, wood, to steel. Furthermore, stables vary widely in size. Facilities, such as those found at race tracks, may house hundreds of animals, whereas a small building may only contain one or two.
